About the Happi
Project-happi is a restaurant & guesthouse. Or a cafe. Or a chilled out bungalow & bongo operation. We’re not sure yet. But that’s the fun part, and the purpose of this website – we want to document it all – from scouting out a location to sorting out visas, and the many changes that our little project goes through on the way.
We also want your advice. This is our first time at starting a business, and we’ve seen the stats – We have no delusions of grandeur. We need your help. Along the way we’ll be asking for some tips on everything from starting up an expat business to banking in a foreign country, what ever tasty morsels of knowledge and facts you care to dish up.
Who’s Happi?
Milli is a freelance photographer and writer currently based in Melbourne. Fresh off the plane from a year of backpacking around the globe, Milli doesn’t mind so much being back at her old job, but only because now she can afford things like food. Milli is a regular contributor to SanchezJalapeno.com
You can follow Milli on twitter or read her travel blog.
Steve’s dreaming of a beach and a beer chang. Some surf, followed by some turf. A phad thai then a mai tai. Basically anything that gets him out of the board room and into his board shorts.
Steve’s yet to succumb to twitter, and recently got rid of Facebook. Hi five.
Shane too just returned from a year of backpacking around, only to realise that he misses SE Asia like a fat kid misses cake, and along with Steve, came up with this hair-brained scheme over a few pints of apple cider (it’s not manly, we know. But it tastes really good). Armed with a MacBook Pro and a double scotch, Shane usually spends his Saturdays bunkered down and writing for the likes of Trazzler, HavePack and his own travel website – SanchezJalapeno.com. Shane thinks he is the brain to Steve’s Pinky, but in reality it’s probably the other way around.
